Wikipedia, for example, tells us that insight is the interpretation of trends in human behavior , which leads to increasing the effectiveness of the product or service for the consumer himself. This definition is not wrong, let's be clear, but it is a partial definition, taken from the point of view of the agency and/or company but not from the consumer's point of view. That is, I cannot say that an insight is the interpretation or observation of a phenomenon, because the insight is in fact that phenomenon that I am trying to observe. The definition of consumer insight must therefore be reversed.
We define a consumer insight , or marketing insight , as data photo editing servies or information that, if correctly interpreted, explains that specific customer behavior in relation to the use of a particular product or service. A consumer insight has at least characteristics that describe it it is not a goal see the Jobs To Be Done theory but it is the way customers experience the experience with that particular product. although it is not absolute, it is a recurring behavior and is observable, unchanged, in many customers. generates a mutual benefit for company and customer.
It helps companies keep customers closer because it helps them understand customers better. It helps customers because they feel listened to and get products more in line with their expectations. it is an assumption derived from observation and knowledge of the market, customers and one's product however, to be understood it cannot only be observed, but must be correctly interpreted and contextualized. A marketing insight is that moment that growth hackers call the "aha moment", that moment when everything magically becomes clear.
